FLYING TMT SHEAR

“ LOTEY “Billet Cutting machines are fabricated from tested rolled plates from Main Producers , which are mild in composition, but sturdy in performance All the drive gears are manufactured out of forged En-9/19/24 Steel which is duly hardened and grounded. The shaft/Crank is forged En-8/9 steel. . Gun Metal Bushes are made with Copper Alloys to last longer life. All the machines are tested here for capacity and performance before dispatch.

The machines are used to cut the ends and sizes of all sections and fitted near the cooling bed. The capacity of these machines varies to cut Rounds & Squares to 75mm and bundles.

Functional Description

The shear will be located after the finishing mill and before the cooling bed. One no. encoder shall be installed at the motor/pinion stand of the finishing stand. This shall sense the exact RPM of the finishing roll. These Shears are used to cut to length the over length bars. (Surface temperature around 3500C min.)

Frame: Steel fabricated by M.I.G. welding duly stress relieved in oil fired furnace.

Pinions/Gears: EN353/354 integral case carburized

Blade shafts: EN9 forged and heat treated from 260 to 280 BHN

Lubrication: the frame is provided with spray lines to the gears and the lubrication lines to bearings, including pumping unit complete

They are of exceptionally robust construction, are specially designed for rapid cutting of metal scrap / plate and posses the stamina for continuous high speed duty.
